My love for photography and videography grew from a passion I shared with my grandmother for the documentation of life. MAWU represents the balances and changes in our lives and nature. I believe that photographs and videos capture moments that we want to burn into our subconscious. In hopes of capturing those important moments, I have embraced the mystery in creating beautiful, enduring images. In turn, those images remind us of who we are, where we come from, and who we are to become.
Cost Explanation of Photography and Video Production
Many people (including myself before I became a photographer/videographer) ask about the prices associated with prints, portraits, videos, production etc. So here is my best attempt at explaining...
A typical session involves: planning and consultation, location scouting, other photogs and vid people, set-up, equipment, shooting time, and post production. After the shoots, I transfer the digital files onto a computer. After the transfer, I run each project through a color correction process to make them more aesthetically-pleasing. Finally, after the initial post-production process, your project is packaged and delivered with ease. I enjoy the organic process of collaborative creation to make your project an enjoyable and enhancing experience.
So, the total time involved from start to finish is typically anywhere from 6-20 hours or more, depending on your project. The prices of prints, promotional videos, canvas wraps, books, wedding and music videos, EPKs, etc. are directly related to the time spent in designing and developing the project. I also maintain high standards for every project produced which ensures that the client has the option of viewing and choosing only from my best work. The other cost factor that goes into production is the equipment. Professional equipment is pretty expensive. I shoot primarily with a Canon digital SLR camera. I also experiment with vintage film and photography as well. As you can probably imagine, the purchase price of these equipment items and accessories adds up to thousands of dollars, which is the last factor in the cost equation.
